Road 96, A wonderful road trip

Summer 1996, Petria. The country of Petria has gone to hell. The regime is out of control. Time to escape, head for the border, the free world. The last of your parents’ savings in your pocket, thousands of miles at your feet, and a small hope of crossing the border alive. Hitchhike your way across the country in the first-ever procedural narrative game. Meet memorable characters, discover secrets, learn skills to help you cross the border to freedom. Your choices change your adventure, change people, change the world. There are thousands of routes along Road 96. Which one will you take?

From the creative minds behind “Valiant Hearts” and “Memories Retold”, Road 96 offers an immersive adventure in which you will find yourself in the shoes of teenagers of Petria, chasing their Freedom in the middle of an election that will determine the future of the country. Will you vote for the conservative candidate Tyrak that is financially supporting the country thanks to his oil companies? Or will you vote for the progressive candidate Florres that wants to bring a change in the country? Unfortunately, the change seems to be miles away from Petria and because of that a lot of youngsters are looking for a third option, run away from Petria towards the border.

In this procedural story-driven game you create your adventure. Each dialogue, each path crossed will drastically change the fate of your character. Talking with the people of Petria will allow you to unlock useful skills that will make your adventure more interesting. The atmosphere of the game sounds nostalgic and the ’90 soundtrack kicks in always at the right time.

Each of the characters will tell you their stories, but you won’t be able to get the full picture in just one run. The best part of Road 96 is that you will live not only the story of one young kid traveling towards the border, but all of them! Once you have reached the end of your first adventure you will find yourself back to the start (with all the progress achieved so far) and you will take the control of another youngster looking to reach the border.
