We still don’t know if it would be the fall or the beginning of 2022 but keep in mind that the first Nintendo Switch was released in March 2017, and if Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 would be one of the top games of Nintendo Switch Pro, March 2022 will fall exactly on the fifth anniversary of the previous Switch.
We have finally seen some new information about Breath of The Wild 2 during the Nintendo E3 2021. The Hyrule kingdom seems even bigger, now the open world feature will include sky exploration, even though we have seen less underground area compared to the trailer from 2019.
Gliding over the clouds and freefall mechanics remember a lot the ones we have seen in Skyward Sword, even though our hero seems to rely upon a magic glow that should replace the Sheikah tablet of BOTW. There is also a short clip in which a puddle rewinds “back into time”. We are still unsure, but it seems clear that new mechanics will be added to the new Zelda.
The First BOTW trailer was released in the E3 2019 when Nintendo showed us Link busy exploring the underground area: there are some mysterious runes, glowing hands, and a new hairstyle that hyped the online audience.
The Trailer of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 lasts only 82 seconds we can hear any dialogues but we can get a glimpse of a couple of hints. We see Link holding a Torch e, together with Zelda, they are walking through a dark dungeon into the depths of Hyrule (Nothing surprising so far). The tomb they are exploring it’s surrounded by roots and creepy tendrils, and our Hero and the Princess seem to ride Elephant look-alike animals. Something is frightening them, and after we see the resurrection of what resembles an old fallen warrior from the distressing aspect. Could it be the return of Ganon?
The trailer cuts on an external panoramic of Hyrule, where we can see the castle in the background. We hear a rumble, the Castle is surrounded by a cloud of dust and it starts floating. The trailer ends with the following “ The sequel of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still under development”.
Usually, we wouldn’t have expected so many scenes in this phase of the development of the game, but most likely Nintendo is helped by an already fully operated graphic engine.
