Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, what’s new?
Recently we have seen the new trailer of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and from what we can see the two games look a lot similar to their previous version (graphic aside). We will look into the main differences and mainly on what is new in the two games.
Grand Underground
We can see a lot of changes compared to the old version of the Grand Underground, the main one are the pokemon hideaways. These were not in the original games, and it seems that there are different versions of these areas with a type them each time (in the trailer we can see a cave with Rock and Ground Pokémons, and a Snow area with Water and Ice Pokémons). You will be able to build your secret base in which you can place Pokémon statues that will affect the spawn of wild Pokémons in the area (e.g: it seems that a Gyarados statue will make spawn more water-type Pokémon).
Capsule Customisation & Style shop
Now the Pokéball customization will show a 3D render of our capsule and we will be able to place up to 20 stickers wherever we like. It seems that we can also apply a special effect to the launch of our Pokémon (the pokéball will release sprinkles or sparkles when opening, it seems that there will be hundreds of options to choose from). The style shop will allow you to purchase clothes Pokémon theme that will make you look more like your pocket friends!
Contests
The contests are coming back! And as far as we can look they will be divided into multiple phases. A presentation phase, that will rate your Pokémon based on their popularity level, and a shows off, in which the Pokémon will be able to use their move set to get the audience’s appreciation.
Hidden Machines are back?
From what we can see in the trailer some hints tell us that HMs are back. We can see some small trees that can be removed only with “Cut”, boulders that can be destroyed with Rock Smash, and Waterfalls that can be raised with the “Waterfall’ move.
This remake is for sure a unique opportunity for people who didn’t own a Nintendo DS to play these amazing games, and for the nostalgic ones to enjoy again the adventure in Sinnoh on a next-gen console.
