Is Stardew Valley Worth It?
Stardew Valley is a farming simulator game.
players can create the protagonist and give them farm plots, which they must clear for themselves. They can plant crops or raise chickens, cows, goats, sheep; players are also allowed to craft goods such as yarns and cheeses. This game has a range of activities that players may engage in outside of tending to their farm fields (e.g., mining, fishing). The game’s pixelated aesthetic style was well received by fans across social networks; along with the amount of content the game offered for a solo player – something different than most other games of its time – this game proved to be popular among critics and gamers
It would totally depend on if the gaming experience you’re looking for suits your gaming preferences. It’s not for everyone, but it is a good game with a lot of content and definitely worth the money to those who enjoy this sort of game.
Other similar games are Harvest Moon (see here), Story of Seasons, and Animal Crossing. if you like these games then you’ll probably enjoy Stardew Valley
So would I recommend it? Yes.
If you enjoy farming, exploration, and crafting then this game is worth it for you. It’s a beautifully made game with a design that hasn’t been copied by other games since it stylistically came out in 2016.
Personally, I love it and have been getting my money’s worth out of this game since purchasing it on the Nintendo Switch almost a year ago.
But do keep in mind that if you’re expecting something of an RPG, such as what you might get with the Witcher series or The Elder Scrolls; then you’ll be let down by this game.
If you’re looking for a game with multiple endings and a lot of character-specific quests; then this game probably isn’t for you.
If you’re looking for something that will give the player the freedom to do what they want, go where they want, when they want as long as it’s within reason; then yet again, this probably isn’t for you.
But if you enjoy light-weight RPG elements such as what is offered in Stardew Valley, then this game is probably well worth a shot and will give you hours upon hours of fun to anyone who enjoys the genre it’s been crafted into.
If you get this game you will get an expansive and addictive game for a small price which will give you a lot of joy.
