Monster Hunter:
World is an action RPG that takes place in a world full of monsters and other creatures. The player, known as the hunter, sets out on quests to hunt down these monsters with weapons and armor crafted from the remains of slain beasts. Along the way, players can explore different areas for items to bolster their arsenal or grow stronger themselves. There are also plenty of side quests that can be undertaken to gain more rewards.
Each monster has its own set of strengths and weaknesses, so hunters need to take advantage of these differences to maximize their chances for success. Additionally, there are many specializations available, such as wielding hammers or bows along with swords and shields. These specializations help to provide hunters with a unique play style that suits their individual preferences.
The controls take some getting used to, but they can be mastered in time. The graphics are incredibly detailed, and there is plenty of reason to explore the world around you. Overall, Monster Hunter: World provides an enjoyable experience for anybody looking for something exciting, adventurous, and even occasionally terrifying.
The Good:
There is a lot of content to explore and plenty of ways to do so. Each monster has its own special strengths and weaknesses, leading to some interesting combat encounters with lots of variety. The controls take some time to get used to, but they are pretty solid once you have them figured out. The graphics look amazing, and the soundtrack fits the world perfectly. Being able to play online or locally with others makes the game all the more enjoyable.
The Bad:
Some players may find inconsistencies in areas such as hitboxes which can lead to frustrations. In addition, the story is pretty weak, and I wouldn’t recommend playing the game only for that. Some timed events can be frustrating, but they usually have a ton of valuable rewards to collect.
Overall
Monster Hunter:
World provides an enjoyable experience with plenty of content to keep players exploring, crafting, and fighting monsters for hours on end. If you’re a fan of action RPGs, then this is definitely worth checking out.
The Extra:
Excellent visuals. Very smooth gameplay. Great collection of monsters to tame and battle against, both in the main story and on side missions. Being able to join a clan for some co-op battles or creating your own clan for others to join is a great addition. The ability to capture monsters and mount them is also a very cool feature that makes it worth investing in scout flies and other items that will help you find these creatures on your travels. There is plenty of content here with tons of weapons, armor, skills, etc. The ability to craft new gear from pieces of defeated monsters has always been one of the best parts of this series.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this game for anybody who likes games such as Dark Souls or other action RPGs that require slow and deliberate combat tactics (rather than button mashing) in their gaming experience. However, if you’re not the type of person who enjoys sitting back and waiting for the perfect moment to strike, then this game may not be for you. This game is great overall, though, and I give it a 9/10.
